What to Expect

During your appointment, your provider will review your filler history and examine the area to determine the amount of filler dissolver (Hylenex) needed. A small amount is injected directly into the treated area using a fine needle.

Mild swelling or stinging is normal, but the process is quick and typically well-tolerated. In most cases, filler dissolving begins within hours, with full results appearing in 1 to 3 days. Multiple sessions may be necessary for dense or long-standing filler.

• Re-treatment (if desired): Recommended after 7–14 days

Expected Level of Discomfort

Mild. You may feel slight stinging or pressure during injection. Topical numbing or ice can be used to reduce sensitivity during your filler dissolving procedure.

Recovery Time

There is minimal downtime. Temporary swelling, redness, or bruising may occur. Most clients resume normal activity immediately. We advise waiting 1–2 weeks before re-injecting with filler.

Expected Results

You can expect softened or fully dissolved filler in the treated area. Puffiness, asymmetry, and filler migration typically improve within 1–3 days. In some cases, a second filler dissolving session may be recommended for complete correction.

Your skin will return to its natural baseline appearance, allowing for a fresh start — whether you want to remain filler-free or re-treat with a more balanced approach.

Aftercare

• Avoid touching or massaging the area for 24 hours
• Use ice packs for swelling
• Avoid alcohol, heat, or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours
• Skip active skincare and makeup for 12–24 hours

Hylenex is a trusted, FDA-approved filler dissolver used by aesthetic providers nationwide. It specifically dissolves hyaluronic acid fillers and does not work on non-HA fillers such as Radiesse or Sculptra.
