A lip flip is a quick, non-surgical lip enhancement that uses a few units of neurotoxin (the same wrinkle-relaxing product family as Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau) to roll the upper lip gently outward, so more of your natural lip shows and your smile looks fuller, with no filler. At HoneMD, lip flips are performed by our licensed nurse-practitioner injectors in Torrance and Huntington Beach, starting from $99 for new clients, with the plan and price agreed before we begin.
How much does a lip flip cost in Torrance and Huntington Beach?
A lip flip at HoneMD starts at $99 for new clients. Most clients need 2 to 4 units, and a flip is often added to a regular wrinkle-relaxer appointment at a bundled rate. You see the full plan and the exact price before any treatment begins, with no hidden fees and no consultation-day surprises. Know the plan. Know the price. Flexible payment is available through our financing partners.
What is a lip flip and how does it work?
The lip flip relaxes the orbicularis oris, the ring of muscle that pulls the upper lip down and inward. With that downward pull softened, the upper lip rolls slightly outward and reveals more of the natural pink lip surface, the vermilion. The result is a fuller, more lifted upper lip and a more even smile, achieved without adding any volume. Because it uses a neurotoxin rather than hyaluronic acid filler, a lip flip is subtle and temporary, which makes it a popular first step into lip enhancement.
Lip flip vs. lip filler: which is right for you?
A lip flip relaxes the muscle so the upper lip rolls outward and looks fuller without adding volume. It lasts about 2 to 3 months and starts from $99.
Lip filler uses hyaluronic acid to physically add volume and define shape. It lasts about 6 to 12 months and starts from $499.
Many clients start with a flip, decide they love seeing more of their lip, and add filler later for longer-lasting volume. Others combine both in one visit: the flip refines the shape and edge while the filler adds fullness. Your injector helps you choose during a complimentary consultation.
Am I a good candidate for a lip flip?
A lip flip may be a good fit if you:
- Feel your upper lip thins or disappears when you smile
- Want a fuller-looking upper lip without committing to filler
- Want to test the look of a more prominent lip before considering filler
- Already have lip filler but want more visible upper-lip surface
- Show excessive upper gum when you smile (a "gummy smile")
- Want a subtle, short-lasting enhancement ahead of an event
What to expect: process, downtime, and how long it lasts
Consultation (5 to 10 minutes): upper-lip movement assessment, smile-line review, and gummy-smile evaluation.
Treatment (under 5 minutes): a few tiny injections along the upper-lip border with a fine needle. Optional topical numbing.
Onset (3 to 7 days): the upper lip begins to roll outward subtly.
Peak (about 2 weeks): full effect.
Maintenance (every 2 to 3 months): a lip flip lasts a shorter time than other neurotoxin treatments because the lip muscle is so active. There is essentially no downtime.
The HoneMD approach
A lip flip is dose-critical. Too much product and the upper lip cannot seal properly, which can briefly make drinking from a straw or pronouncing certain consonants difficult. Too little and you see no effect. Our nurse-practitioner injectors typically use 2 to 4 units placed at strategic points along the upper-lip border, for a natural outward roll that looks like a fuller lip, never a frozen one. If you show excessive upper gum when you smile, a small additional dose can soften a gummy smile in the same visit. Every plan follows physician-designed protocols under our Medical Director.

A lip flip at HoneMD is $99 for new clients - what you see published is what you pay at the studio.
