The Sculptra® treatment begins with a consultation to evaluate areas of volume loss and determine how many vials are necessary for your desired outcome. The injections are performed using a fine needle or cannula, and the most commonly treated areas include the cheeks, temples, jawline, and nasolabial folds (smile lines).

In addition to facial areas, some clients opt for Sculptra® to improve skin texture in the chest, décolleté, or above the knees, or to add subtle contour to areas like the buttocks.

Immediately after the injection, you may notice some swelling due to the water used to suspend the PLLA particles. This swelling typically subsides within a few days. Over the following 6-12 weeks, as collagen production increases, your skin will begin to show a gradual improvement in volume, texture, and firmness.

• Treatment time: 30-60 minutes
• Number of sessions: Typically 2-3 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart

Mild. Topical numbing and/or lidocaine mixed into the solution helps minimize discomfort. Some areas (like temples or jawline) may feel more sensitive, but the treatment is generally well tolerated.

Minimal downtime. You may experience mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection sites for a few days. Most clients return to regular activity the same day.

You’ll be asked to massage the treated areas 5 times a day for 5 minutes for 5 days – this helps the product distribute evenly and encourages the best collagen-building response.

Aftercare

• Follow the 5-5-5 rule: massage the area 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days
• Avoid heavy exercise, alcohol, or heat exposure for 24–48 hours
• Do not apply pressure or sleep on treated areas the first night
• Use ice packs if needed for swelling

Your provider will give personalized post-treatment instructions based on the area(s) treated and your overall skin goals.

Sculptra delivers gradual, natural-looking volume restoration and improves skin texture, elasticity, and firmness. The results build over time and become more noticeable in the weeks and months following your final session.

Full results typically appear within 8–12 weeks and can last up to 2 years or more. Many clients choose to maintain their results with annual touch-ups.
