Nasolabial Fold & Smile Line Filler
What is nasolabial fold filler?
Nasolabial folds — also called smile lines or laugh lines — are the deep creases that run from the sides of the nose down toward the corners of the mouth. They form naturally with expression, then deepen over time due to age-related volume loss, reduced skin elasticity, and repetitive facial movement.
Nasolabial fold filler is a non-surgical injectable treatment using hyaluronic-acid-based dermal filler — typically Juvederm, Restylane, or RHA — to soften these creases, restore midface volume, and create a smoother, more youthful appearance. When done correctly, the result blends seamlessly with your natural expressions. No puffy, no overfilled, no “done” look.
The HoneMD approach to smile line filler
At HoneMD — serving Torrance and Huntington Beach — our aesthetic nurse injectors specialize in natural-looking correction. We focus not just on the folds themselves, but on the supporting facial structure (cheek, midface, lip support) that often causes nasolabial folds to deepen in the first place. The result: subtle softening without looking overfilled.
Every consultation starts with a treatment plan and a price — published before any treatment begins. No pressure. No upselling. More about our Torrance studio →

Frequently asked questions
How long does nasolabial fold filler last?
Typically 12–18 months, depending on the product used, the amount placed, your metabolism, and how much you smile. HoneMD recommends maintenance every 12 months for most clients.
Does nasolabial fold filler hurt?
Most clients report mild pressure rather than pain. We use topical numbing cream pre-treatment, and the filler products contain lidocaine for additional comfort during the injection.
What is the downtime?
Minimal. Most clients return to normal activities immediately. Some minor swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites can occur and typically resolves within 24–48 hours. Strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat are avoided for 24 hours.
Will I look “done” or overfilled?
Not when done correctly. HoneMD’s approach is conservative-dose-first — we’d rather under-fill and add a touch-up than over-fill. Subtle softening is the goal. Most people won’t be able to tell you had anything done; they’ll just say you look rested.
Is nasolabial fold filler reversible?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, RHA) can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if you’re unhappy with the result or if there’s any complication. This is a major safety advantage over permanent fillers.
Where is the treatment performed?
At HoneMD’s Torrance and Huntington Beach locations. Both studios run the same conservative-dose-first clinical standard, the same plan-and-price-first consultation model, and the same team training.
Who performs the treatment?
All treatments are performed by our team of board-supervised, licensed aesthetic injectors: Melissa (NP), Kristin, and Megan (NP). Shawn Abrishamy, MD serves as Medical Director and oversees clinical protocols.
