Our injector team doses conservatively by default, following protocols set by our medical director, Shawn Abrishamy, MD. The first appointment is a mapping conversation, not a unit count. We prefer to under-dose at the first visit and refine at a two-week touch-up than to over-treat and wait three months for movement to return.
What "wrinkle relaxer" actually means
Wrinkle relaxers - also called neuromodulators or tox treatments - are FDA-approved injectable proteins that temporarily soften the muscles responsible for expression lines. The goal at HONEMD is never to flatten expression. It's to dial down the over-recruitment of the muscles that etch lines into the skin, while leaving the lift, the smile, and the brow movement intact.
Common areas treated for our Redondo Beach patients include forehead horizontals, the glabellar 11s between the brows, crow's feet, and a soft brow lift. HONEMD is located at our South Bay studio, the South Bay. From the Redondo Beach Pier, take PCH south for approximately 3 miles, turn left on Madison - the studio is in the medical complex on the right with free parking on site. Most patients budget 10–12 minutes door-to-door outside of rush hour.
First appointment
A first wrinkle relaxer appointment at HONEMD typically runs 45 minutes. We map the muscles, talk through how much movement you want preserved, choose a starting dose, and inject. There's no downtime - most patients drive themselves home and resume their day. Results begin to show in 3–5 days and reach full expression around the two-week mark, when we offer a complimentary touch-up if needed.
